Wellness Wednesday: Happy Cinco de Mayo {hold the mayo}

Happy Cinco de Mayo week!

Not that we ever need an excuse to eat Mexican food, but if you do, feel free to take advantage of tomorrow’s opportunity to indulge in all things chips, salsa, and tacos, while possibly drinking way too many margaritas!

While we know how important it is to stay on track with healthy choices daily, we also totally support the from time-to-time indulgences, especially when guacamole is involved!

To keep you on track with your summer slim-down, while allowing yourself to enjoy the festivities, we’re letting you in on a few of our favorite recipes that won’t leave you feeling yucky or deprived.

1.) 6 Layered Tempeh Taco Dip - McKel with Nutrition Stripped is a recipe genius.  This plant-based appetizer is so good, you will forget that it is healthy.  Trust me.  It’s a total crowd-pleaser.

2.) Tequila Lime Fish Tacos or Portobello Tacos - Two super delicious taco options from Jeanine with Love and Lemons from Austin, Texas… where they know how to do tacos right.

3.) Spicy Grapefruit Margaritas - I don’t know about you, but we are crazy about spicing up our margaritas lately.  Kate, of Cookie + Kate, gives us a healthy spin on this delicious summer cocktail to keep us refreshed all summer long.

Let us know what you think of these recipes! And cheers to you for a happy and fun CINCO DE MAYO!

Until next time!

xx,

Sara (& Lindsey)
